Privacy Policy
Taimaka QuickBooks Connector · Effective 23 September 2026
Scope
This policy covers the Taimaka QuickBooks Connector (the "Application"), an internal tool operated by The Taimaka Project ("Taimaka") for its own QuickBooks Online companies. It does not serve other organisations or the public.
Data the Application accesses
- Accounting data in connected QuickBooks Online companies, read through Intuit's Accounting API: transactions, accounts, vendors, customers, employees as they appear on transactions, classes, locations, items and reports.
- Basic company information: company name, home currency and settings.
- OAuth credentials issued by Intuit, which let the Application act on the connection an administrator approved.
How the data is used
Solely for Taimaka's internal bookkeeping, financial reporting, audit preparation and reconciliation against Taimaka's own bank, payment-processor and expense records.
Where the data is kept
- OAuth credentials are stored encrypted on a server controlled by Taimaka. Access to them requires a Taimaka administrator credential, and every use is logged.
- Accounting data is downloaded only to devices used by Taimaka staff authorised for finance work. It is not stored on the server beyond what is needed to answer a request.
Sharing
Taimaka does not sell this data or share it with third parties for their own purposes. Staff may analyse it with software tools that act on Taimaka's behalf, including AI assistants such as Anthropic's Claude, under Taimaka's agreements with those providers. Data may be disclosed where the law requires it, including to auditors and regulators.
Retention
OAuth credentials are deleted when a company is disconnected. Downloaded accounting data is retained in line with Taimaka's financial record-keeping obligations.
Security
Traffic is encrypted in transit (HTTPS). Credentials are encrypted at rest. Access is limited to named Taimaka personnel.
